Player Stats and Opponent Profiling in Omaha Indicator

Omaha Indicator collects a wide range of statistics on how both you and your opponents play. These statistics allow you to see how your opponents play and adjust how your game to your opponents tendencies.

For example, to see how a player plays pre-flop, you will see stats such as:
  • VPIP (Voluntary Put Money In Pot): This is basically what percentage of hands a player voluntarily puts money into the pot pre-flop, indicating how tight or loose the player is pre-flop.

  • PFR: The percentage of hands a player puts in a pre-flop raise, giving an indicator of their level of pre-flop aggression.

  • 3Bet/F: Indicates how often a player will re-raise a raised pot pre-flop, or how often a player will fold to a re-raise if they have already put money in the pot.

  • Steal/F: These stats indicate how often a player will attempt a pre-flop steal or fold to such a steal. A steal is when a player puts in a raise from the cut-off, the button or the small blind when there has been no action before them.

These stats give a good picture of how a player plays pre-flop and lets you adjust your game to the style of opponent you are facing. For example, by looking at the fold to steal percent of the players immediately after you, you can see how profitable it will be to attempt to steal the blinds, while looking at how often the players before you steal should help give an idea of how often you should attempt to play back at a steal attempt.

To get a picture of a players post-flop play some of the statistics that are collected include:
  • AF: This indicates a players aggression factor, which is basically how often a player bets or raises over how often a player calls. A high aggression factor indicates a player is betting or raising a lot and rarely simply calling a bet. This is a good indicator of how aggressive or passive a player is after the flop.

  • CBet/F: How often does a player place a continuation bet on the flop, or how often do they bet the flop if they were the pre-flop raiser. This statistic also presents how often a player folds to a continuation bet.

  • WSD/W: How often does a player go to showdown, and how often do they go to showdown and win. These stats help give an indication if a player overplays (and can not be bluffed) or if they typically show down with the goods (to know to get out of the road).

With these stats you will be able to adjust to your opponents post flop play to know things such as whether you should respect a players continuation bet, or if it might be possible to bluff a player off a pot.

Once a good number of hands have been collected, Omaha Indicator will profile your opponents based on these stats into categories such as a loose passive calling station, a tight aggressive player or a lose aggressive gambler. The tool will profile the players into one of 9 categories and place a player profile icon next to their name to give a good quick impression of that players game play.
